Meet the Band

Tommy   Tommy Black…Tommy Black is a singer, songwriter, and entertainer from Fayetteville, NC.  Not only does Tommy sing and entertain with the best, he also writes and produces his own music.  His vocal ability is evident in his first CD “Do It At The Beach.”  This CD is a mixture of Beach Boogie and Blues, Island Music, and Happy Songs of the Heart.  All songs on this CD were written by Tommy, and it is a CD you will thoroughly enjoy – guaranteed. Tommy has produced a total of four CD’s, and more to come.  In 2013, Tommy was inducted into the Fayetteville Music Hall of Fame. This was such a big honor for him, after excepting his award, he hit the stage with Kool and the Gang. Tommy is now a recording artist with KHP Record Label. Tommy is most comfortable with a microphone in his hand and an audience to entertain.  With his wireless mic, you might find him at a table singing to the ladies or doing a harmonica solo in the middle of the dance floor. Tommy loves to entertain and it shows when the “Tommy Black Band” does their floorshow.  The floorshow consists of a Tribute to Elvis Presley, the Bee Gees, Willie Nelson, Frankie Valley, and many more. Tommy added a new member to the band after he walked into Deckerz in North Myrtle Beach in 2008, Christina Cooper. On October 6, 2012, Christina and Tommy said “I Do” to one another. Now they reside in North Myrtle Beach, S.C..

Christina Cooper…Christina Cooper moved from Fort Mill, SC, to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., twelve years ago, in hopes of making her dreams come true as a female music artist. Music has always been a very important part of her life. She sang her first song with Tommy Black on Dec. 31, 2008, and has been with the band ever since. She released her first song, “Can’t Get Enough”, which was nominated for “Beach Music Song of the Year” and “Duet of the Year” in 2009.  Her 2012 single “It Don’t Matter To Me”, written by Tommy Black, was nominated for Blues Song of the Year, and hit on the National East Coast Blues Chart at #1 for several weeks. It was destined to be another blues hit by Christina and the Tommy Black Band. Additionally, Christina’s song selection has the distinction of being the only original tune recorded for this project. Thanks is extended to Tommy for allowing us to use this jewel on “Queens of Southern Soul, Back by Popular Demand”! Christina has such a diverse vocal ability, in which she can go from singing Tina Turner to Whitney Houston, to Carrie Underwood, and Etta James. Now she is happily married to Tommy Black, and they live the true dream, singing together and loving one another. She was also named the Grand Strand 2015 Entertainer of the Year!
